Spring Breakin'

Well, I have no excuses for myself. My blogging habits (or lack thereof) have got to improve! I have been on SB all week. It's been SO.SO.GREAT! When I first started teaching I always thought, "What am I gonna do in the summer? I'm gonna be so bored." Not anymore. I am officially ready for the summer. Bring.it.on! More later on my projects and goals for my summer.

This week I was determined (!!!!) not to just lay around on the couch and let the week go by without making something of it. That is what happened over fall break and I was left wondering where my sweet freedom went and why the hell I didn't get anything done in that time span. Probably cause I was so freakin' tired. And, let's be honest here, I do have a bit of a lazy streak.

So Monday was a yuck-o-la day. Rainy and just good-fer-nothin'. So I stayed inside and got some cleaning done. Caught up on laundry and just some good old' fashioned deep cleaning. Spring Cleaning at it's finest!

Tuesday was much nicer out. The sun was shining and was TORD (tired) of being inside. I was planning a trip to D-Town to see P. Diddy and the MFIC so I decided I would impress them by gettin' my car fancy. I looked up some places online to go to have my car detailed but I decided I didn't wanna pay some pimply-faced teenage boys $60 to clean my car when I needed the sunshine myself. So, I loaded up the Equinox and we took a trip to Wally World for the finest in car care cleaning and accessories.

Check her out. So dirty, my poor UT sticker has faded to white. Poor team spirit.

This is the catastrophe in the back.

3 HOURS LATER (seriously, those pimply-faced boys earn their keep!) my car was lookin' good! I am proud of the work I put into it. I'm hoping that keeping her clean can be a part of my summer "work". I've also replaced the sticker. GO VOLS!

Wednesday I used my gift card from Valentine's Day to the Nurture Nook and had my massage. H-E-A-V-E-N-L-Y. (Big thanks, hugs, and kisses to JD for that treat!)After that I hit I-40 (going WAY too fast, made the trip in a lil' over 2 1/2 hours - YIKES) and was on my way to Dandridge. When I got there P.Diddy was definitely shocked by the appearance of the Equinox.

We later went to dinner (thankfully they are FINALLY workin' on the bridge or it would've been The Point) at New Orleans on The River in Sevierville. It was HUGE! It was a nice night so we sat outside on their patio (it's no Point view, but it was nice to see the mountains again). We both had the cajun chicken pasta (YUM!). I told P.Diddy it's a good thing calories don't count on vacation. :)

We watched The Blind Side that night. SOOOO good. I love sports themed movies, though. And I love Sandra Bullock. And I love UT and Phil Fulmer. It was just right up my orange-lovin' heart alley.

Thursday we ran some errands and had El Sazon (YIPPPPEEEEE!!!). I swear, y'all, it wasn't even my idea! Me gusta!

Chicken Fajita Nachos and a B.A.C.

Friday I came back home to spend some QT with JD. I got sick all over again while in Dandridge. I don't know if it's this crazy weather or what. But I've just got a constant man-voice and runny nose. Not to mention my lymph nodes are swollen up to the size of marbles. So gross, y'all, but sittin' on the couch I was all awkward and felt like I was havin' a double chin, so I reached up to to feel (I'm weird, mmmkay?) and I felt this huge knot under my chin and IT MOVED. I seriously made P.Diddy watch me move it around for like 5 minutes. (TMI, you say? It's my blog - you ain't gotta read it!) :) Anyway, I've tried not to touch it again (except for showing it to JD and grossing him out one good time) and to let it go away. If it's still there at the end of the week, I'm gonna have to go see the Dr. again (ughhhh.....).

Anyway, after a loooong nap Friday we went to dinner at Wasabi with his parents. Again, the whole calories not counting on vacation thing was workin' to my advantage.

Saturday I got JD up and announced to him that I had some "projects" in mind for the day. Oh, he just jumped up and squealed and clapped his hands all "cakes and pies" style like from The Nutty Professor.

My big projects were to do something about that eye-sore of a coffee table we've been using. This coffee table has been with me through 5 apartments. It's been eaten off of, spilled on, toenails painted on, I mean, it had just seen it's better days. I had my eye on a few cheap ones at Wally World - nothin' fancy (after all, we're still just rentin', folks!), but something upgraded. This is the only piece of furniture that isn't black or a dark finish in the living area. It sticks out like a turd in a punch bowl. I just had to do something about it. When I told P.Diddy about wanting to buy a new one, he told me I should just paint the one we have black. Well, DUH! My plan all along. Seriously, that thought had NEVER crossed my mind, I was just gonna dump a perfectly good table cause I couldn't stand to look at it. P.Diddy is such a thinker!

Big improvement, huh?

My other project is to fix up our outdoor patio area. Currently it's shabby. Two miss-matched chairs and a dirty cooler are the only things sittin' out there. Needless to say, we look a little 'red'. I'm gonna get that spiffy by the end of the week and update pics with it.

Right now I need to be getting to bed and preparing for another week at school with the kiddos instead of finding other ways to keep myself entertained. I meant to go in for at least one day and prepare the room, switch their seating arrangement, clean, organize, lots of plans, but didn't do any of it. And you know what? For once, I don't feel guilty about that. :)
