My Golden Globe Predictions

I don't really get into the Golden Globes or any of those big time awards shows. I still like the MTV Movie Awards and at my most fancy, The Grammy's. But, JD and I have recently added Showtime and HBO to our list of channels. Let me tell you that it only took about 4 hours of us watching and DVR'ing everything possible to find our biggest television indulgence.

Dexter.

This is about the best hour on tv throughout the whole week. JD and I both look forward to it each week. We own seasons 1-3 and this past season. Well, let's just say I was blown away at this season's finale. If you haven't seen this show, I definitely recommend! The acting is great, the story is gripping and there is some wonderful dark humor in there. You'll find yourself pulling for Dexter, and he's a serial killer! I know, you're thinking there's no way you would root for a murderer. But you would if he was on a mission to rid the world (or at least Miami) of evil-doers! The only weird thing is that Dexter is married to his on screen sister. And I don't really like her character. They could kill her off next season and I wouldn't be too upset by that.

After months of watching Dexter on On Demand and DVD, we stumbled upon this hidden gem.

Edward Cullen can suck it. These vampires know what's up. Not only do I love Sookie's southern twang, but the rest of the cast makes this show worth watching. Her brother is nice to look at but dumb as rocks and the biggest man-whore ever. Her best friend is nothing but a mouth. Her boss is obsessed with her and also a shape shifter! Her other best friend is a cross dressing drug dealer. And then there's Bill. Her vampire boyfriend! Oh, and Sookie can read minds. What you got on that, Bella? Oh! And the best thing of all is that Sookie and Bill are RLL - real life lovers.

But this is the reason I tune in - Lafayette. This guy is classic. SO funny. Love him.

JD and I also watch these shows, and I love all of them, but if I could get you to tune into any it would be the above two.

Desperate Housewives. Love them all. But, Lynette is my fave. She's just the most normal, I guess.

We also like Intervention and Hoarders. Jeff Van Vonderen! You are my hero!
"What I see here is a whole bunch of people who love you like crazy".

Just about anything that comes on MTV or VH1 reality tv.

Can I get some fist pumps for Jersey Shore?

Frank the Entertainer, anybody? Now, I know this show is in it's infancy. And it will never be Rock of Love, but I can't get enough of this disaster.

Gotta love Annie, though. Bless.Her.Heart.

So, my Sundays and Mondays are full of good things to watch. My week dies down on Tuesday and Wednesday, but when Thursday rolls around I get lots of LOL's with Michael Scott and crew. If you don't watch The Office, do yourself a favor and just tune in to a rerun on TBS any weekday. It's hysterical. If you like dry humor, you'll love it! I've never had to work in an office setting but if it's anything like this show, it's gotta be dysfunctional and amazing!

JD just informed me that we also tune into Monday Night Raw every week. This is true. I will not deny my true red tendencies. Rasslin' is something I have loved since forever. This is why I continue to watch:

HBK! Shawn Michaels. DX! I can watch some of that sweet chin music anyday.

So, these are some of my favorite shows. They are mainly ones that JD and I can watch together. Yes, he watches and actually enjoys (if he admits it or not) Desperate Housewives.

So, in the spirit of the Golden Globes I wish Dexter and True Blood to sweep the awards! Michael C. Hall has been nominated for YEARS, I feel like this is his TIME!

Are there any shows that you watch regularly that you can recommend?
