The crew on our way to dinner before the show.
Semi-Precious Weapons opened for GaGa. I LOVED this queen. So entertaining and edgy.
"Sticky with champage, it's okay, it's my birthday!"
I know a lot of you may not listen to or even like Lady GaGa, but she is such a breath of fresh air. It's nice to know she actually sings live, writes her own lyrics and music, and truly has talent and passion for what she does. She's definitely not a cookie cutter pop star. And if you're wondering - the show was definitely not a kid friendly performance. She's a little bizarre but I think she makes it work.
The Lady making her entrance.
There were a lot of interesting cats at the concert, girls dressed like GaGa, lots of queens, and then these two. Kelle and I tried to tell them the football game was a few days later. Go Vols!
The show had such a dark vibe to it. This was one of my favorite segments.
This picture isn't necessarily kindergarten appropriate, but I love it. The shirt, the rip at the knee where I took a spill down the stairs, the glasses, claws out for the little monsters!
Other than GaGa, I really enjoyed these artists this year:

Michael Jackson - you never know the kind of reaction you'll get from people when you mention his name. I'm not saying I was a fan of MJ the person, I never knew him personally so who am I to judge? I'm just sayin' the man made some absolutely brilliant music. You can't take that away from him. I played this cd out this year. I'm looking forward to the tribute they have planned tonight. If you can pick just one, what's your favorite MJ song?

Taylor Swift. It's hard NOT to find yourself singing her tunes to yourself when you least expect it. I try to fight each of her songs when they come out, but I always end up surrendering and just belting out the lyrics in the car on the way to work. JD and I saw her this year at CMT Music Fest. She's not the most graceful on stage and it was a little awkward to watch, but she works it. This girl loves what she does. She's performing tonight, let me know what you think!

I also really liked Miranda Lambert this year. She's got a lot of energy and her songs are just empowering and make you feel strong. I love her lyric, "I don't have to be hateful I can just say bless your heart" - cracks me up! Southern women can bless a person's heart right after we wish death upon them. Like, "I swear she's the dumbest woman I've ever met and she'll never dump that sorry loser, bless her heart". It's true! We do it for everything! "That is the ugliest baby I've ever seen, bless her heart."
I know Brit isn't nominated for too many Grammy's, but that doesn't mean she isn't AWESOME! We took a trip to D.C. last March for some sights and also to go to her concert. Now, it's not on the GaGa level, but this girl is a PERFORMER. If you buy a ticket to a Britney show expecting to hear her live voice and you leave disappointed all I have to say is, DUH! But she works it for the full 3 hours. Dancing and high energy. Here are some pics of us on that fabulous outing. It was an event for us. EVENT.
We aren't stalkers, but we did go in search of the tour bus. FOUND IT! So pretty.
We also knew that we wanted to make ourselves known while in the big city. We decided on wigs. What a hit! People either hated it or loved it. We loved it if you loved it and loved it even more if you hated it. We also pulled up at the venue 8 deep in the limo.
That's just how we roll. Hater blockers and all.
It was a great show though. I would go again. Girlfriend is a legend!
What about you? What did you listen to this year?
Just got the call, no school tomorrow! Looking forward to another day to blog!
I know that you had to see, but I could not BELIEVE Ga-Ga's outfit. Where does she come up with this stuff???? I normally don't watch the actual awards (just the red carpet), but I am looking forward to her performance!
