I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T

Hi all! Hope you enjoyed the MC wrap up. You won't be hearing much about that until I take on the challenge again in January - I can hear your cheers and applause now. And you're welcome.

Since I finally got around to uploading my pictures this morning I realized I didn't post about the 4th or my Monday with Miss Abby. So that's what this post will be about.

I titled it INDEPENDENT to celebrate the holiday and because that's what Abs is now. Super, duper 100%, do-it-myself, independent. Which you'll see from the pictures.

So, here we go...

We went to Jessica and Ruben's the night of the 3rd. Ruben got the big UFC fight which JD had been planning on watching since probably his 12th birthday, so we definitely couldn't miss that. It was nice because the neighborhood they live in was firework friendly, so Jessica and I just sat outside with a glass of wine and watched them.

I had about 10 shots of these guys but this was the only one that they are all looking. It'll make them laugh, I guess.

On the night of the 4th we went to his parents house. But not until I got myself the Ultimate Kid's Fun Pack at the fireworks stand. Sparklers, snap dragons, smoke bombs, fountains, and strobe lights! I love fireworks, and if I was a millionaire I'd drop thousands on those bad boys each year. But instead, I settled for the always perfect kid pack. :)

Brave man lighting a fountain!

Awwww, yeah, son! Red, white and blue!

The next day was Mondays with Abby. It was a yucky day so we stayed in. No pool time for us. We went for a short walk to the mailbox, but other than that we kept ourselves entertained in la casa.

JD came home from work and took some pictures of us having some lunch.

Abby had some yogurt to eat. I first gave her a regular spoon but it just slid right off, so I gave her a measuring spoon. It worked better! Hey, it's all I had!

I also put the yogurt in one of those salsa dishes from Mexican places. I figured it was shallow so it would work well?

After a while I think she was getting a little stir crazy and wanted out.

I must have been craving watermelon this week.

And lastly, these are the Lincoln Logs I got at a yard sale last weekend. Abby wasn't interested in them at all. But Scarlet surely was!

Have a great weekend! We're off to Nashville Shores tomorrow if the weather cooperates!
